If I've learned anything in life, it's that nothing is official until a party is thrown. Bohemian Like Me did just that on November 9, 2013 at The Special Magic Studio Fantastic. And fantastic it was indeed. With DJ M*Knight, open bar of wine and champagne, beautiful models and guests, I mean what else could you ask for, a tipsy hostess, ha that happened too.
The party commenced with DJ M*Knight setting the mood with his tunes, a flow of drinks, and a projection of old Charlie Chaplin movies. The models joined the party, walking out to one of my favorite songs "Fake French" from Le Tigre's Feminist Sweepstakes album. The models were dressed in Bohemian Like Me styles and were done up in tribal make up and messy braids and hair (done by the lovely Ani McKenzie). The projection then changed to a slideshow of Bohemian Like Me's fashion shoot. The guests cheered on the models, while at one point a loud male voice emerged from the crowd yelling "Yeah, I love that skirt!" The love and support was definitely felt. Thanks guys.
After the runway show, the dance party began and the party continued. There was an ordering station, where guests could order merchandise, and we had buttons as giveaways! I mean, everyone loves buttons right? Pizza Lounge came to the rescue, as the scheduled food truck had a little mishap.
In the end, all happened as it should have. It was a wonderful evening. Not as many photos were taken, as we may have been enjoying the party too much. Not all memories need photographs to be remembered, as I will hold the feeling and fun had that night in my heart and mind. "Like all great travelers, I have seen more than I remember, and remember more than I have seen."-Benjamin Disraeli
